trumpets blare
the streets are crammed
full of sounds
deafening noise
intertwined
the crowd revels
forgetting
ignoring
blind to all else
while
the homeless man
shoulders his bags
and weaves
through the roaring parody
once known as mankind
in search
of a quiet place
to stay.
