The Veil

almond eyes
blue as the sky
luminous skin
a body so delicate
you fear it might break
when touched –
she moves
to the slow tune
of pipes and violins
sinuous
graceful
divine

so close
but yet so far
admire
devour…
but do not touch
for the veil
keeps her
out of your loving hands.
