paint the moments blue and green
and give it all a silver sheen ~
memories are solemn friends,
to those who think it never ends.
the faith of fallen’s sturdy mind
is (almost always) undefined ~
but leads to one more step ahead,
for those who walk, won’t be mislead.
I kind of like it… but I don’t really think I understand the third stanza. This does not at all mean you need to explain it to me. I just know how hard it can be to get any feedback on a poem.

thanks for your words… 🙂
the third stanza means (to me), that it is a true miracle how faith works for those who have been crushed over and over… it is ‘undefined’… impalpable… but somehow still there. and strong, too.
truly miraculous and astounding to me.
… but like with every poem, this is just MY interpretation… 😉

I’m still prone to weight authorial intention above my own reading… but it is hard to argue with Eliot.

Sometimes I feel like my life would be simpler if I had only read T.S. Eliot’s poetry and stayed away from his criticism and essays… alas… what is done is done.
