Paper Personality

words coil,
to pour from my lips,
my hands.

may they be
may they be

I encourage them
to be ~
for so am I
and they are mine.

    • thank you very much!
so hard to measure the sufficiency of words… i don’t know if there is even such a thing as ‘measuring’ here – for one person, the words reek, for another, they may cause an epiphany.
      hard to do.

  1. I haven’t quite discovered yet how to efficiently use grammar in free verse poetry, but you do it nicely. I love the humility in this poem. What freedom, to not have to be or speak perfectly!

  2. Reblogged this on The Write Caravan and commented:
There are many poems by Miriam I could have re-blogged, because I happen to like so many. I chose this one, however, because it’s like a bold declaration of imperfection. There’s no facade here, just a contentment with the reality of our existence. There’s freedom in imperfection, in the realization that we can’t do it ourselves 🙂
