Movement In Blue

Rhapsody-In-Blue-600x450to leave (to grieve for)
times we knew;
the price we pay
to move
and see…
it’s not as steep
as we might think.

dive in deep ~
and we might find
it will be
well worth
taking the risk
of letting go.

Old Habits

the proud salesman,
tie askew,
loses himself in his valuable briefcase –
what once held such treasure
now displays
yesterday’s news
and the spotted, aged version
of a lonely banana.

feet in thin air, flailing
he seeks refuge
under the greasy canopy of yore.
old habits die hard ~
and pride
is not easily discarded.
