Worlds Apart

a bump
in this cobblestone road
turns determination
to despair

you
run for the hills,
evaporate in turbulence,
no longer allow yourself
to cast a shadow;

while i
stretch and yawn ~
and expect
the usual pace/face
with the morning paper.
